An American University professor did a magic trick for his class on Monday. And this was not the first time. If his students get nothing out of this class, they can at least say they had one interesting teacher.

Professor Barry Gordemer passed a giant sewing needle through a balloon, and it did not pop. This is student, Kirsten Klohr's theory.

Gordemer, aka "Sort-of-Amazing Barry," used to close all his magic shows, including a gig at the White House, with this trick.
He began by comparing magic to real life. He talked about people always having high expectations and things that will try to ruin them. Then another student, Chloe Dechellis blew up the balloon as he revealed the needle. Gordemer said the only way to keep our dreams alive is to believe and did the trick.
