Professor at American University leaves students mesmerized once again

An American University professor known as the Sort-of-Amazing-Barry performed a magic trick that most people would think is impossible.

Comm 200’s Federica Degwitz reports.

Barry Gordemer performed an incredible magic trick with only a balloon and a needle. He explained that magic is a metaphor for life and how sometimes we have inflated expectations.

He asked one of his students to blow up the balloon that symbolized our hopes and our dreams but that sometimes there are people who want to pop them.

That is when he brought a sewing needle to stick into the balloon. He acted as if he was going stick the needle several times so that students got scared of the balloon pop.

But when Gordemer finally stuck the needle, the balloon did not pop. And neither did our expectations of the magic trick.

But not everyone believed it was actually a magic trick; participant Kristen Khlor had an explanation for it:

But not every participant was trying to find an explanation for the magic trick. Hanya Bruner was simply stunned:

Even if students tried to find an explanation for this trick, the Sort-of-Amazing-Barry left the students astonished.
