Press release and news story comparison

For the press release and news story comparison I chose the brand L’Oreal and their plan to achieve sustainability all around the world.
The press release title is:
L’ORÉAL ANNOUNCES ITS NEWSUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENT FOR 2020 "SHARING BEAUTY WITH ALL". The press release contains a specific description of the four commitments L’Oreal is planning to achieve in the year 2020. Each of which are very detailed and well explained. The press release looks like an outline of the plan; each major part has different goals L’Oreal is trying to achieve. In addition, the press release is written in a less conversational form. It is written in a more formal, academic writing with extravagant words. Also, the press release contains a press contact in case someone needs more explanation or has a question about the press release.

The title of the news story is: L’Oreal outlines 2020 sustainability goals. The news story instead of giving the detailed outline of the goals, it just summarizes the main points written in the press release. It is written in a language that everybody understands easily but includes important quotes from the press release that carry important thoughts and credibility. In addition, the news story includes a background on L’Oreal’s recent growth and how important the brand has become.
